Gothalot
Prime Instigator & Project Manager
Gothalot is the prime instigator of projects like Burning Man’s daily playa newspaper, the Black Rock Beacon. He is also the creator of The Blood Vessel – Rue Morgue, a flaming hearse art car and a project teaching burners on the playa how to fold origami cranes dedicated to loved ones who had passed away. The paper cranes were then burned in specially prepared Playa Tech “goffins” at the 2007 Burning Man Temple. When it was announced there would not be a temple on the playa in 2008, Gothalot opened his mouth and started a dialogue to see if he could change that. “I wanted to build something for the community that the community had a say in, a part in, that physically and emotionally added to its being. I turned to Skirblah and flippantly said, ‘Draw a picture and I’ll make it.’ So he did, and here we are.” When not welding art, shaping wood or creating other insane objects, Gothalot writes and directs film and video from the Bay area to L.A. |

Skirblah
Top Deck Monkey
Skirblah is an artist who follows many threading ideas in many more directions in true Gemini fashion. He is a sculptor, painter, fire artist, woodworker, artist of thread, pencil, pen, crayons, clay, rock, and so much more. Pulled into Rue Morgue last year, Skir has fully embraced this year’s Temple of Community project. Skirby is learning to be careful when discussing potential ideas with Gothalot. It was, in part, his flippant comment to Gothalot about putting an origami crane on a platform that started this, really. Skirball is full-on loving this project and knows that it’s a gift to the community that is needed by many. |

Butterfly Lisa
Project Coordinator
Butterfly is an artist, crafter, builder, seamstress, hoopdancer, creator and Gothalot’s wife (isn’t he a lucky man!) A hostess with the mostess and insipid organizer of all things. She tries to keep the team and the project together, well-informed and well fed! One of the few early settlers of the Blood Vessel/Rue Morgue crew, Butterfly has jumped into this project full on and hasn’t come up for air yet. Besides being a part of the build team, Butterfly is the docu- mentarian. She will be in your face taking pictures, video taping, documenting and promoting this project and all its goings on.

Ninja Kitty
Mistress of Communication
Ninja Kitty fell from the sky into the Temple of Community. Inspired by her wild adventures as a teacher in Korea, she jumped in, heart and soul, ready to get things done. And get things done she has! Aside from being the Mistress of Communication, Ninja Kitty is a mistress of public health, a rocker and a roller, a crafty girl and a truly spectacular lady. She finds herself settling back into San Francisco and making a space that’s new and different. For her, the Temple of Community is what that’s all about. |

Pikey
Pikey is a pirate and a Pastafarian in good standing. For the past two years he has been bringing word of the Flying Spaghetti Monster to the masses, and shall continue this noble calling on the playa Friday evening, August 29, 2008. His other artistic accomplishments include The Passion of Stretch Armstrong and more Celtic knotwork than is good for any one person. |

Not only does he inspire with words and ideas and a general state of grace, he will also contributing his latest creative inspiration, the Gateway to the Future, to the Temple of Community project. Rhino is a veteran Interranger - those rangers out at Midwest Burners’ regional burn, Interfuse - and a Fire Safety Officer for Sphyre of Prometheus, central Missouri’s first fire performance troupe.
